Default Sure glad that I don't own a new Toyota now

Anybody been watching their troubles lately? They've stopped manufacturing 8 models and have told dealers not to sell them until they are repaired for faulty gas pedal designs.

Heard on the news the other day that they will likely become the most recalled vehicle ever.

Sales have come to a screeching halt even though they're now offering 0% financing and 100k warranties.

I have a friend who had the dreaded broken camshaft issue a couple of years ago.

Oh well, maybe we can bail them out when the time comes.

First report I saw a few months back said someone crashed their Prius at 100mph. How long does it take for a Prius to get to 100??? How could nothing go through your head in that amount of time other than OMG what do I do??

Think if I get caught speeding on the Interstate, I could slap a Toyota badge on the side of the car and get away with it?

I think I heard over 23 million cars recalled so far and not just here, they are recalling them over seas too.

They know it's an electronic problem, don't know why they wont admit it publicly.

There's also been a cop and his whole family killed in one of them. Camary I think it was.

Don't know why it's such a big deal, just kick the damn thing out of gear and if it blows before you get off the road and stop, so be it, they will have to repair it under warranty.

I was talking to a friend last night who owns a new Tacoma and we were discussing the same thing. If your pedal ever hangs up just shove it into neutral and shut it off.

It seems simple to most of us, but there's a LOT of people out there who have NO mechanical inclinations at all and wouldn't have a clue as to what to do. I know if this happened while my mother was driving, she'd crash. She wouldn't have any idea how to handle a stuck gas pedal.

The same friend that I was talking to last night said that he received the recall notice for the floor mat issue. The recall said to remove your floormats asap and bring the truck to the dealership where they would "remove" a half-inch off of the bottom of the gas pedal. There's what you want; a mechanic taking a hacksaw to your gas pedal.

Well, don't cut the key off till you are stopped at least. You don't want the wheel to lock to the column and loose your steering. You know someone will do it if we don't mention that.

There was a customer discussing this with one of the cashiers at work a few days ago. They were talking about how terrible it was as I walked up. I waited for a point to interject and said, "Well you could always just reach down and bump it into neutral." The customer responded with "It's just not that easy" and another woman standing there said "I just don't think I could react logically in that situation, I would be to scared." We have to share the road with these people...

There should be a government test or something before people can drive... That would stop all these wrecks and all!

No, the key is to ban all these assault vehicles.

Would that be only the black ones? Or just the ones with extendable steering wheels and mufflers ( noise suppressors )?
